Threatening World Peace
The Pew Research Group conducted of survey European, Muslim, and other useless nations and concluded that most people consider the US to be a bigger threat to world peace than Iran's nuclear program.
President Bush called this notion "absurd", which - I suppose - is President-speak for "complete and utter bulls***". [note: colorful metaphor modified from the original, lgp]
Just to make sure, though, I think I should poll the Alliance.

Satan is the biggest obstacle to world peace.
ReplyDeleteWe'll never have world peace until our Lord and Savior returns. We can pray for it, hope for it, have faith that it will happen, or whatever... but it isn't going to happen short of the glorious return.
You know... I'm a christian. I follow politics. My father was a christian politician. I vote my conscience and religious beliefs.... but honestly.... I'm not sure God really cares about politics etc.
Sometimes I think those of us who want so badly for our country to be more Christlike, who want our country to be more moral etc.... I think we're missing it. In the same way many of the disciples and others who heard Jesus initially "missed it." They wanted a messiah who would right all of the political wrongs. Who would over throw the Romans. Who would be a political, governmental, savior. Many of us want Christ to do that now, through "the church".
Yet the bible teaches.... if you're a slave, be a good one. If you're subject to a hostile regeim.... be loving. Pay unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's.
That's the tough part for us, because we get to vote. We get to be part of the process. We get a chance to make an impact. God given opportunities, no doubt. But I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in fixing government, so that we'll be a more Christian nation, that we substitute that for just telling people the good news about our savior.
The world will never have peace. There will always be wars and rumors of wars. The world will always hate Christ and his church. The world will always be contrary to God's commands.... until Christ returns. Our part is to tell people about Christ, and God's part is to call them out of the world. Those the He fore knew. We were never promised a Christian nation to live comfortable lives in.
